Ministry Is ServiceALEX AND CARL FINALLY ARRIVED THIS EVENING!!!!!! Today was mainly a work day, as we helped the Lewis family around their house. Our biggest challenge for the day was that there is a drinking water shortage. It was extremely hot and we drove around town trying to find somebody to sell us three full 5 gallons of water. We couldn't find anybody, but we knew God always supplies. We ended up going to a mini village store and he supplied 24 water bottles for the day. We were able to accomplish MANY things around the house today. The girls ended up painting the Lewis family's house, finishing the carpet ball project, and helping do all the housework duties. Meanwhile, the boys dug a fire pit, crafted volleyball posts with cement, and finished helping the girls with the higher painting jobs. We know this doesn't sound like the reason we came for the mission trip, but our emphasis is on serving Christ and others, and ministering through service. So many times people try to reach others to Christ by telling them about it, but there are MANY MANY other ways like showing them a servants heart and Christ-like attitude despite the heat (it was at least 100 degrees!). We all are very thankful to be able to serve their family in the way we did around the house. Us girls were observing (not stalking) Pastor Troy during our trip into town. It was a blessing to see the kind of man who doesn't worry about all the work that needs done, but yet the people. He took the time to talk to them instead of rushing back to get all the work done. He was a great example of Mary who actually took the time to talk to Jesus. Our goal for this week is to be a Mary and a Martha. We call it Marthy's. This is a person who works hard, but knows when to take time for those who need to hear more about Christ, and needs Christ-like encouragement. Please continue to pray for us all during this trip.
