The teen ministry at Southeast Baptist Tabernacle exists to honor and glory God in everything (1 Cor. 10:31). Our desire is to partner with families in the salvation and spiritual growth of young people. The goal of our teen ministry is to encourage and empower teenagers to REFLECT the love and life of Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:20). We strive for every SBT teen to be:
1. Evangelism (Acts 4:12; John 14:6) As we seek to glorify God is all we do, our goal is to lead individuals to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This will be accomplished in relationship building, visitation, outreach activities and evangelistic preaching. 2. Spiritual Growth (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 12:1-2) Principles of daily growth will be taught to those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritual truths will be taught in youth Sunday school, Wednesday night youth group, and small group meetings. 3. Christian Friendships (Proverbs 27:17; Hebrews 10:25) The youth ministry will provide a Christ-centered environment for young people to develop Christian Friendships. Biblical teaching and youth activities will promote God-honoring friendships. 4. Servant Leadership (Mark 10:43; Galatians 5:13; 1 Timothy 4:12) Serving God and others will be a strong emphasis in the youth ministry program. Opportunities will be given for teenagers to serve through various ministries and projects for the church family and community. Leadership will be taught by serving. 5. Purity (Hebrews 13:4; 2 Timothy 2:22) Living a life that is wholesome and God-honoring is paramount. Principles and truths from God’s Word on purity and Godly living will be exemplified and instructed as well as expected.
